Thank you for visiting our campaign website. We are volunteers dedicated to supporting our Fremont Community Schools by talking with community members about the importance of passing the May 7th referendum renewal.

5 REASONS TO VOTE YES

IMPROVE SAFETY

Fremont Community Schools will continue to work with the Town of Fremont to have a Police Officer in our schools.

SMALLER CLASSES AND COMPETITIVE PAY

Passing the referendum renewal will ensure that students are getting the best education in Indiana. Test scores are what has put Fremont on the map!

PROGRAMS

Unfortunately, the state government's funding formula doesn't completely fund necessary education programs. Passing the referendum renewal will provide FCS with the funds it needs to continue to provide students with the high quality education they deserve.

KEEP ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT GROWING

Passing the referendum renewal will allow our Fremont Schools to retain and attract outstanding teachers and to continue providing students with a high quality education - the primary reason why families move to our community. Remember, "A" rated school systems protect, and even improve, property values.

YOUR SCHOOL TAX RATE WILL NOT INCREASE

The original referendum, supported by our community, was set at just over 19.6 cents per $100 of assessed property value. The proposed renewal seeks a reduced rate of 0.15 cents per $100 of assessed property value - not market value.

Thanks to the district's responsible management of your tax dollars, some residents may see no change or even a reduction in their school tax levy.

THE BALLOT QUESTION IS MISLEADING AND WRONG

On or before May 7, voters will see the following public question regarding the Fremont Community Schools operating referendum.

Shall Fremont Community Schools increase property taxes paid to the School Corporation by homeowners and businesses for eight (8) years immediately following the holding of the referendum for the purpose of funding current essential operating needs, retaining and attracting teachers and staff and academic programming which will expand student educational and career opportunities. If this public question is approved by the voters, the average property tax paid to the School Corporation per year on a residence would increase by 30.22% and the average property tax paid to the School Corporation per year on a business property would increase by 29.13%. The most recent property tax referendum proposed by the school corporation was held in May 2023 and failed.
